Drobeta-Turnu Severin is the municipality of residence of Mehedinți County, Oltenia, Romania.
The locality developed near the Roman camp Drobeta, becoming from an initial strategic point a crossroads of land and water roads leading to the north and south of the Danube.
One of the most famous vestiges is the bridge over the Danube. It was built in only three years (103–105) according to the plans of the famous architect, Apollodorus of Damascus, being considered the most daring engineering work of Roman antiquity. The Iron Gates Dam across the Danube is one of the large constructions made in Romania in the 1970s, it links Romania with Serbia.
Round Table 2 Drobeta was chartered on 09.03.1991 being the second club charter in Romania. Since then it was never closed and in 2021 RT 2, will celebrate 30 years of continuous activity.
Charter RT 2 Drobeta Turnu Severin (March 9), godparents being boards from the club TR 127 Villeneuve-sur-Lot (France) in the presence of a large number of participants from the country especially from RT1 Brasov and abroad.
In a relatively small city Drobeta, Round Table 2 is a very active club they are involved in different projects winning several times the award club of the year and service project of the year in Round Table Romania. In this very difficult period, they were involved in service projects in the local area giving and distributing protection equipment against Coronavirus.
Each Cristmas RT2 distribute more than 12.000 Christmas package coming from RT Germany throu Weihnachtspäckchenkonvoi.
